The Classic Method: For authentic sambhar, cook your dal (toor dal/arhar dal) with turmeric until soft. In a separate pot, cook mixed vegetables (drumstick, pumpkin, brinjal, tomatoes) until tender. Combine dal and vegetables, add tamarind extract for tanginess, then add 2-3 tablespoons of our Sambhar Masala per liter of sambhar. Simmer for 10-15 minutes to let flavors meld.
